CRAFTERY FOR HANDICRAFT

An exciting and not a too expensive way for decorating flower pots, trays, mugs, vases, etc. with images cut out of napkins. Decoupage is an application technique used to achieve the effect of paintings on a decorated object.

The technique was invented in China, it spread to Europe from 17th to 18^th cetury Today, decoupage is also called “napkin technique”. Decoupage can give new life to old things and decorate various objects in general (flower pots, picture frames, dishes, candles, boxes, furniture and even textiles).

SALT SCRUB WORKSHOP

To keep the skin youthful and prinky, it is good to do some scrubbing it from time to time. In the workshop, we mix salt, nourishing oils and aromatic herbs for a natural skin scrub. After use, the skin remains extremely radiant and wonderfully fragrant!

MAKE YOUR OWN MANOR BERRY SCHNAPPS

At the end of the manor tour or as a continuation of a nice day, we offer the opportunity to prepare a so-called “manor lady’s herb or berry schnapps” for enoying with friends or acquaintances. In the manor garden, berry bushes have been growing for some time and what could be even more invigorating than sipping a glass of summer-flavored liqueur on a crispy winter evening! Drink is made with vodka and berries, whoever wants a stronger drink adds more vodka to the variety; whoever likes it sweeter uses more sugar.

SOAP FELTING WORKSHOP

A simple and a quick-to-learn handicraft technique where wool is transformed into felt due to soapy water and rubbing. A good way is to start learning felting by felting a scented soap bar that gently exfoliates and massages the skin. The felt is friendly to the skin and when treated properly, it also prolongs the life of the soap.

Felted soap is ideal instead of a skin peeler. Felted soap is a great gift idea for yourself or friends – acquaintances to make a gift.

MAKE YOUR OWN PEPPERMINT COCKTAIL

In the peppermint cocktail you will find the combination of sultry Vihula vodka, citrus, mint flavors and light sweetness, that blend beautifully. No wonder it has become one of the most popular cocktails in the manor this summer. The cocktail is refreshing and cooling and its alcohol content is not very high. First you need to find a garden hidden in the manor lands and pick up a suitable amount of mint leaves. You can then demonstrate your cocktail mixing skills under the guidance of our bar staff! The activity is well suited, for example, during a short break after the seminar and before group work from June to September.

MANOR TOUR

During the tour introducing the manor, we will tell stories and legends about the life of the manor in ancient times and today.

The elegant 16th-century manor offers perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and an extremely comfortable place to stay. The various manor houses have been carefully renovated to preserve their historic appearance amenities – the original owners would no doubt be amazed to see some of these magic arts.

GOLD CART MANOR TOUR

With a golf cart you can visit the historic houses and beautiful places of a large manor complex or simply enjoy the surrounding picturesque nature. Take a map of the manor with you, so it is easy to move around the manor.

FLAVORS AND LEGENDS OF THE VODKA DISTILLERY

The Vodka Distillery is located in a historic 3-storey stone building from the 1830s. The Vodka Museum in the building has interesting exhibits about the history of vodka and alcohol production in Estonia and Vihula Manor.

We invite you to spend a nice afternoon with our vodka program. We will taste 5 different grain vodkas (wheat, rye, barley, corn vodka, a legendary welcome drink) and tell nice stories and legends about life in the manor in the old days and offer Vihula black lard bread as a snack.

ROMANTIC BOAT RIDE WITH A PICNIC BASKET

Vihula manor is especially fascinating with its atmosphere and picturesque location. The slow-flowing Mustoja River winds around a large manor park with old trees and lush greenery, after which it expands into a pond covered with waterlilies, small islands and a romantic arch bridges.

Do you want to know how it is possible to travel through the three Baltic States – Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and visit the capitals and sights of these countries in just one hour? Come play mini golf “Tour de Baltics”
on Vihula minigolf course, it is the first and largest 18-hole mini golf course in the Baltics. The thematic trail is a trip through the Baltics – Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The handmade candy and truffle workshop talks about the history and making of chocolate.
In the workshop, candies and truffles are made from three different types of chocolate.

PHOTO TRANSFER ON A PIECE OF WOOD
In the workshop, prepared photos are transferred to a wooden pallet. The result is a decorative wall photo or a hanger.

Bear viewing with NAUTOUREST

There is a very good opportunity to see and take pictures of bears, other wild animals and birds from the bear caves behind Alutaguse. Alutaguse is a well-known bear area, about half of Estonia’s 800 bears live there in the forests and swamps. Our caves are located in the western part of Alutaguse, near the Sirts swamp, a one and a half to two hour drive from Tallinn and Tartu. All bear viewing huts are comfortable and cozy, equipped with chairs, beds and toilets.
The two huts have a total of four separate cabins, each with two bunk beds. The observation windows are shaded on both sides. Hut is located in the forest, where mainly forest species are expected – bears, raccoons, woodpeckers, etc. Creek stream in the meadow, which is liked by the creatures of the open landscape can also be seen from the hut. Sometimes elk and goats come to lick the salt, the coyote hunts the mouse or the bald eagle circles the sky. A beaver or wild boar drink water on the shore.
Those interested in photography can take a picture through the window of the hut and, if desired, we can open a photo door equipped with a special photo bag, where you can take pictures on your tripod. If you wish, you can use our tripod. The hut is equipped with a dim light that does not disturb the animals, so it is possible to watch all night.
The new thing is the sensitive microphone next to the hut, which brings forest sounds to the hut through high-quality speakers. On some quiet nights, the world of sounds can offer even more powerful nature experiences than seeing the animals – you might hear the howl of a wolf herd, the wedding invitations of elk and the whistling of an owl.
