Vihula Manor Wine Cellar offers the possibility to get to know Portuguese wine simply by enjoying bottle of one of the many superb wines in the cosy environment of a genuine wine cellar.

We also offer the possibility of getting more thoroughly acquainted with centuries of Portuguese wine traditions through degustation of vintage wines. We have 2 basic options:

 

Degustation by a trained waiter

Easy and fun wine degustation with light introduction to Portuguese wines. You will try 5 wines from different regions in Portugal. During the degustation you will learn about Portuguese wines, the grapes, the wine districts and the different Portuguese terms such as “Verde”, “Maduro” and “Reserva”, so next time you are buying Portuguese wines you are able to read and understand the labels. Degustation by a wine specialist

Our wine expert, Paulo Jorge de Castro Ribeiro, will teach you all you want to know about Portuguese wines. Let Paulo guide you through the world of Portuguese wines and learn how to distinguish the differences between various wines and appellations. During the degustation you will taste 6 very distinct and different wines ranging from the fresh and sparkling Vinho Verde to the refined and mature Fine Port. Ask for a price offer.

Portugal is the 10th largest producer of wines in the world with an annual production of over 1/2 mill. litres. The country has 30 wine districts (DOC & IPR) and we have chosen Portugal as our wine country due the diversity, quality and value of Portuguese wines.
